The hammer disc of a hammer crusher is considered a vulnerable component and can be used for six or seven years with proper protection. Typically, Q235 steel is used for the hammer disc material. Through a dual-layer bright ion metal infiltration technique, the Mo-Cr co-infiltration is performed on the surface of this steel. Subsequently, it undergoes supersaturated carbon infiltration, quenching, and tempering compound treatment. The Mo-Cr diffusion layer thickness is above 100 micrometers, with a surface Mo content of up to 20% and Cr content reaching 10%. The surface carbon content after supersaturated carbon infiltration exceeds 2.0%, and the surface composition is close to molybdenum-based high-speed steel. After quenching and tempering, the surface hardness reaches 1300HV, surpassing that of conventional metallurgical high-speed steel. Wear tests show that the friction coefficient increases with increasing contact stress, and the average relative wear resistance is 2.2 times that of GCr15 carbonized and quenched steel.
